Introvert

An introvert is a person whose primary function is introverted. As such, he draws his energy from inwards rather than from the external world and hence typically enjoys solitude and may be reserved towards strangers.

Introversion is often confused with shyness. There are differences between shyness and introversion, and the two may not even be related at all. Mainly, shy people tend to be anxious of social situations, whereas introverts just plain don't like them, or don't actively seek social interactions.

Some people also think introverts are antisocial, which is another mistake. Quote wikipedia:

"Antisocial personality disorder (APD) is a psychiatric condition characterized by an individual's common disregard for social rules, norms, and cultural codes, as well as impulsive behavior, and indifference to the rights and feelings of others. "

Obviously, this has nothing to do with introversion at all.
